The theatrical rock adventure “Act II” combines two incredible, yet slightly different live performances on video:
The first chapter, “Metropolis Alive”, has been filmed two months prior to the release of Tarja’s 2016 success “The Shadow Self”. Twenty (20) winners from all over Europe were lucky to witness Tarja’s intimate, yet rocking 75 minute set at renowned Metropolis Studios in London, UK where the singer performed songs from her then unreleased album – for the first time in front of an audience.
“Act II’s” second chapter has been recorded on November 29th, 2016 at the magnificent Teatro della Luna in Milan, Italy and includes hits from all four Tarja albums such as “Innocence”, “Die Alive”, “Until My Last Breath” as well as an incredible cover of Muse’s classic “Supremacy”. That night’s set list also enchants the soprano’s long-time fans with a medley consisting of the distinctive Nightwish evergreens “Ever Dream”, “Slaying The Dreamer” and “The Riddler”. All topped off with a remarkable acoustic set which presents Tarja classics in a brand new way.
Even though the shows deliberately differ in look, sound, approach to the music and adrenalin, both have one thing in common: from the very first to the very last tune, the state of the art production displays Tarja’s energetic performance and her graceful, charming presence.
“Live videos became more and more mere documentations focusing on a band’s performance in a remote, distant and technical way. The lightshow and the LED’s only support the band’s performance but have no significance of their own.
With “Act II” it is different. Here everything has a significance, every little detail is important because it is not only a live-recording, a live-documentation.
In the video, every song was treated in order to transport the feeling I wanted to express live at the show. As close as possible to the way the audience might have felt it that night. We used additional footages, used video snippets, photos and graphics and worked with lights, framings and reflections, changed colours and created moods, distorted pictures and inserted slides. And sometimes we kept the pure picture because itself it transported everything we wanted.
“Act II” is not a live-video, it is a live-art-video and you are free to discus it very controversially; what is exactly what I want.”
“Act I”, Tarja’s first ever live release, charted Top 10 all over Europe as well as almost all over the world, with a sensational #5 in Germany’s General Charts. The video version even remained for over two months at the peak of the Finnish music video charts.
“Act II” keeps the energy and aesthetics of its predecessor, but adds a new chapter to the live saga in a brand new way.

Italy’s keyboard virtuoso GABRIELS signs to ROCKSHOTS RECORDS for the release of the brand new rock opera: “FIST OF THE SEVEN STARS ACT 2 – HOKUTO BROTHERS”
GABRIELS is a quite known keyboard player and musician based out of Italy, also active as arranger and session-man, who worked with some renowned musicians such as the well-known singer Fabio Lione, Mark Boals and the keyboard player Mistheria among the others.

Concept:
This Rock opera is dedicated and freely adapted from to the manga and anime “Hokuto no Ken” by Tetsuo Hara and Buronson. In Act 1 we will see the first part of the story the girlfriend of the protagonist is kidnapped by his enemy and rival in martial arts, and forms part of a different school … leaving him dying back after a long time to get revenge and take back what is his…but she is dead….?!?!? And now in this Second Act the story continues with many new entry like Rey, Mamyia, Ailee, Toky and others to tell the story of the descendants among the hokuto brothers … for the succession was chosen ken but his brothers how would they take this thing?
A story that has become legend in Japan and in the world…
Gabriels, son of art, was educated by his father since an early age at the piano studies, among his teachers, Salvatore Calafato, Olivia Carauddo, and with Prof. Antonia Salpietro he reaches the degree of the I level at the Conservatory of Music A. Corelli (Messina, Italy). Along with his Classical studies, Gabriels starts his career as Rock and Metal keyboardist listing various studio and live collaborations, performing recently, among others, with one of the greatest Metal singers, Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Angra).
Gabriels, under his name, has released two singles, an EP and three albums distribuited by SG Records: ”The enchanted wood ” (Electronic Music), ”Call me” (Rock), ”The legend of Prince” (Rock Opera). Other studio works include Gabriels & Alex: ”Non dirmi addio” (Italian Pop), DenieD: ”Seven Stars” (Power Metal), Metaphysics: “Beyond the Nightfall” (Progressive Metal), Platens: “Out of the world” (AOR). He has collaborated with a Metal web-zine (www.metallizzed.it) that is also involved in classical music, writing reviews, and articles. Gabriels is work also as producer at his own studio and school of music “Soundimension Records” located in Milazzo (Italy). On 2013 he releases the album “Prophecy” (Indipendence Records), a rock-opera dedicated to September 11 victims with Mark Boals on vocals and now in February 7 will be released his new album with so many big names as guests and intitolated “Fist of the seven stars Act1”!!! Also in June will be released the album “Vivaldi Metal Project” produced by Mistheria and Alberto Rigoni and has within it many internationally renowned artists from around the world, a huge project that Gabriels as Arranger and keyboardist.

New York doom band WITCHKISS have teamed up with Echoes & Dust to stream a lyric video for their song “A Crippling Wind”. The song is taken from their album The Austere Curtains Of Our Eyes which will be released this Friday via Argonauta Records.

La band groovy Melodic-Death metal italiana BigHate, ha pubblicato un nuovo video musicale, Hybrid (Inverse Records). Si tratta del loro nuovo singolo, il punto di connessione tra l’Ep DeathWish, uscito nel 2017, ed il nuovo album in scrittura.

I BigHate sono stati fondati nel 2014, da Andy ed Heleonore. I due provarono a fondere i loro differenti gusti musicali, fondamentalmente legati al Death, al Thrash ed al Groove Metal, per trovare così un punto di comune accordo. La band attualmente sta lavorando ad un full-length.

I Black Light sono una band Metalcore proveniente da Ferrara, Italia, nel 2012.
Il sound dei primi brani dei Black Light si situa tra l’alternative rock, il grunge e l’hardrock, per poi spingersi verso il thrash metal. Con il corso degli anni i ragazzi iniziano ad ispirarsi a gruppi come Asking Alexandria, Architects e Miss May I, diventando una band metalcore.
Il singolo di debutto dei Black Light, “Map Of Truth” è uscito il 18 Maggio del 2018, ed è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme online. È la prima traccia estratta dal loro EP “Set Yourself Ablaze”, in uscita per l’etichetta discografica Sliptrick Records nei prossimi mesi.
Il testo di “Map Of Truth” tratta temi attuali e di natura sociale, analizzando le domande che potrebbe farsi qualsiasi novizio entrato nel mondo “adulto”, dopo averne scoperto il peso e le contraddizioni. Il sound, a sua volta, è caratterizzato da breakdown molto profondi, alternati a ritornelli melodici.

The guitarist Edward de Rosa (Souls of Steel, Elegy Of Madness) currently working on his first solo album titled Zeitgeist that wll be available the 26th October 2018 via Revalve Records. The album is a Symphonic power metal opera of 10 tracks which has been produced at the Reverse Music Studio in Taranto and in post production at the Rogue Studios in London. The whole album will see the voice of Giacomo Voli (Rhapsody Of Fire, Teodasia). Edward de Rosa has released the first videoclip for the imposing instrumental track Replicants:

Dopo un’attesa di quasi due anni è finalmente uscito “My Second Birth/My Only Death” nuovo lavoro della band gothic rock This Void Inside, accompagnato dal lyric video di “Memories’ Dust” (videomaker: Stefano Mastronicola)!
L’album, prodotto da Agoge Records, è disponibile in tutto il mondo in distribuzione digitale; il CD fisico uscirà in autunno 2018 (preorder: rome@agogerecords.com).
I This Void Inside si formano come one man band nel 2003 da un’idea di Dave Shadow (ex frontman dei gothsters My Sixth Shadow), intenzionato a sperimentare nuovi suoni e concetti compositivi, per poi diventare all’inizio del 2008 una band a tutti gli effetti; registrano il loro primo full lenght promo CD di dodici canzoni: “Dust”, prodotto da Dave Shadow, che si occupa anche del mixing, mastering e della composizione di tutti i brani con le uniche eccezioni di Send Me A Sign e Wish che nascono dalla collaborazione con Victor Love (Dope Stars Inc., My Sixth Shadow).
L’album verrà pubblicato in una tiratura limitata di sole 300 copie, e la band inizia a suonare live supportando anche importanti band del panorama gothic.
Nel Maggio 2008 i This Void Inside firmano con la label DECADANCE RECORDS (Latexxx Teens, Pulcher Femina, Siva Six) che lavora per una re-issue del debut album arricchendolo di un nuovo layout e art work; la versione 2.0 di “Dust” viene pubblicata nell’ ottobre 2008.
Nel 2016, dopo un lungo periodo di silenzio, la band ricomincia a lavorare su del nuovo materiale con una line up rinnovata: i chitarristi Frank Marrelli e Alberto Sempreboni e il batterista Simone Gerbasi si uniscono ai membri originari Dave Shadow e alla bassista Saji Connor; a novembre esce il nuovo singolo “Losing My Angel”.

I DRAGONLORD, la band di Eric Peterson dei Testament pubblicherà un nuovo album di inediti, il primo dopo 13 anni. Il nuovo album “Dominion”, sarà pubblicato il 21 settembre 2018 su Spinefarm Records. Disponibile il primo making of dell’album e il lyric video della titletrack “Dominion”.
L’album è stato registrato presso i Northern California’s Trident Studios e prodotto con la supervisione di Juan Urteaga (Testament, Machine Head, M.O.D.). “Dominion” è stato masterizzato da Jens Bogren ai Fascination Street Studios svedesi.

Renowned Testament guitarist Eric Peterson recently announced the release of his highly-anticipated new DRAGONLORD album, entitled Dominion, out September 21, 2018 via Spinefarm Records. The symphonic black/death metal album serves as the long-awaited follow-up to 2005’s Black Wings of Destiny, but takes the fantasy and storytelling to a whole new level. Dominion explores themes of darkness owning and influencing these times we now live in, and things that have come to pass. It also delves into other eras, real and otherworldly.
Today, DRAGONLORD mastermind/vocalist/guitarist/bassist Eric Peterson is pleased to reveal the very first episode in a series of three “The Making of Dominion” videos. Part one details the growth of DRAGONLORD since the release of their last album and the initial writing process on Dominion, also highlighting the individual musicians on the album – including Lyle Livingston (Psypheria) on orchestrated keys and pianos, Alex Bent (Trivium) on drums, and notable fantasy metal singer Leah on female vocals and choirs (who has performed/recorded with members of Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Delain and others). Unreleased audio clips of the album are also mixed in amid the video content.
In part one, Eric Peterson says, “Right around 2010, Lyle and I were talking about maybe doing another DRAGONLORD record… I contacted [our producer] Juan… he’s like dude I have the perfect drummer for you too… his name is Alex Bent. He ended up coming over, we jammed on some older DRAGONLORD songs… he had this really cool groove and right there and then I knew. This is probably the best sounding drum record that we’ve put out.”
“Leah and I go way back,” adds Peterson. “She had invited me to do some vocals on one of her records and we talked about maybe doing more stuff together. We ended up doing a Christmas song together called “Winter Sun”. We got a lot of responses from it and people wanted us to do a whole record that sounded like that. So, after hearing the [DRAGONLORD] record… we thought it would be really awesome to have a real voice interpret what Lyle had done on the choirs. Right then I was like, Leah’s got to come here and do that. She really nailed it. I’m super happy with the way it came out.”
As aural the gates to Dominion creak open on the first track, “Entrance,” you descend into the dark world of DRAGONLORD and there’s no turning back. The pummeling begins with the title track, “Dominion”, welcoming all who dare enter into an eternity of misfortune. Then it’s into “Ominous Premonition”, which Peterson likens to “the soundtrack to the gates of hell”. The track “The Northlanders” is about brutal 11th century Northmen, while “The Discord of Melkor” will thrill Lord of the Rings fans with an untold tale– “my take on Tolkien’s “Silmarillion,” the first age of the Lord of the Rings saga genesis,” says Peterson. Then there’s the surprise of the slower, Black Sabbath-influenced duet with “my amazing Celtic vocalist friend and collaborator Leah,” Peterson explains about “Love of the Damned,” an abstract piece that still explores a love story – with the devil, of course. “Almost like a switch-up story of if Beatrice from “Dante’s Inferno” did fall for the Prince of Darkness!” Dominion’s eight songs create a deep and heady musical journey rife with meaning and menace, from the blackest and loudest recesses of Eric Peterson’s mind.
Peterson formed DRAGONLORD in 2000 as its singer and guitarist (with keyboardist Lyle Livingston and now-ex-members Steve Di Giorgio of Testament and Jon Allen of Sadus), and notes that the growth from DRAGONLORD’s first two records to the cinematic triumph and brutal blast-beats of Dominion has been immense. Dominion’s stellar, complex, brutally symphonic metal is triumphant in its execution, bringing together layers of meaning and musicality into an unholy whole.

Nati nel 2009, i Lady Reaper sono una band Heavy Metal italiana con base a Roma.
Nel 2017 i Lady Reaper firmano con Valery Records e nasce “Mise En Abyme”, il nuovo lavoro in studio della band. L’album spazia all’interno di un Heavy Metal fresco e versatile, offrendo l’ascolto di performance anche distanti dal genere di partenza, come ad esempio l’interpretazione di due famosissimi brani di musica sinfonica.
