Athrox is the brainchild of the guitar player Sandro Seravalle and the drummer Alessandro Brandi, with the addition of Francesco Capitoni at the guitar and the bassplayer Andrea Capitani.
The lineup found its final shape with the singer Giancarlo Picchianti. With these members Athrox started the songwriting process for their first full lenght album entitled Are you alive? featuring 11 brand new heavy metal tracks – released by Red Cat Records in 2016.
Athrox music style is a powerful mixture of heavy metal with thrash elements, but characterized by different elements which brought the band to a great response from critics and audience.
The lyrical concept behin Are you alive?€ features the rising problems of mankind: war and massive new media problems which enslaved our free will and sensibiliy. Are you alive? is the question Athrox would like to ask to everyone, to everyone enslaved by this corrupted society.
The live activity has led the Athrox to share the stage with great artists such as Iced Earth, Ross The Boss, Mike Le Pond, Phil Campbell and many others, playing in local and renowned festivals.
Now the band is working for the new album €œThrough the Mirror€ , which is going to be released on November 9th 2018 via Revalve Records.

Italy’s hard-rocking alternative metal band NEREIS have revealed a new music video for the song “Now”. The video was directed by Maurizio Del Piccolo, and filmed on location at Adrenaline Stadium (Moscow), and A2 Green (St. Petersburg) while the band was on tour in the Russian Federation during November, 2018. Watch the video right now at this location.

“Before leaving, everyone in Italy told us to taste some authentic Russian vodka” says guitarist Sam Fabrello. “I got back, and I totally forgot to bring some home! Shall we go back to Russia? Of course, I think it may be soon…” Singer Andrea Barcheisi continues, “It was the greatest experience of our career so far. There were more than 4,000 people in St. Petersburg, and 8,500 in Moscow. When our manager said to us that both gigs were sold-out, I was a bit nervous because it was the first time that we played in front of so many people.”

“Now” is taken from the band’s latest album Turning Point which was released on June 8, 2018 via Eclipse Records. The album received critical acclaim from dozens of media outlets and radio stations all over the world. To date, the band have released three music videos supporting the album, for the songs “Breaking Bad”, “Overdrive”, and “Two Wolves” which have surpassed a combined 24,000 views on YouTube.

Tratto dall’album “Light after Dark” uscito il 28 Settembre 2018 su etichetta Valery Records, “Senteced to Death” è il primo video e singolo rilasciato dai Mary Brain per questo disco.

Nati nel 2006, I Mary Brain, sono una band italiana di base a Modena, La line up è composta da: Matteo Vicenzi (Vocals) Andrea La Piccirella (Guitars) Nicola Palma (Bass) e Andrea Ferrari (Drums).

Dal punto di vista del sound, le prime influenze dei Mary Brain spaziano dal rock all’ heavy, passando attraverso il prog / trash con venature dark, maturate poi in “Light After Dark”, album con forti richiami hard rock e heavy metal anni 70/80 ed un sapore prog che continua ad essere presente nella loro musica. Nel primo full lenght, “Regression Of Human Existance”, la visione pessimistica della razza umana è ben evidenziata non solo nei contenuti tematici ma anche nel sound oscuro dalle venature dark e introspettive, mentre nel nuovo album “Light After Dark”, anche rispecchiando la positiva condizione attuale della band, vediamo finalmente apparire la luce dopo l’oscurità.

I suoni, gli arrangiamenti e i testi sono adesso sicuramente più positivi e ottimisti e il sound dei Mary Brain è di conseguenza piuttosto diverso rispetto al disco precedente. Questo nuovo stile viene definito dal combo modenese “Metarock” e nasce per proporre qualcosa di innovativo ovvero un’ interessante miscela tra Metal, Rock e Prog. “Metarock” trasmette un feeling e un certo groove in più, una forte e riconoscibile identità che rende il sound dei Mary Brain decisamente personale e unico.

Italian Death Metal masters MECHANICAL GOD CREATION reveal cover artwork and release the first single of their highly anticipated new album “The New Chapter”.

Exhibiting their elegant and gloomy music around the world, Palma, Spain’s melancholic doom outfit HELEVORN have posted their new lyric video “Nostrum Mare (Et deixo un pont de mar blava)”, which is sung in eight different languages. The video is in support of their fourth album “Aamamata” due out this Wednesday, January 23rd via Solitude Productions / Bad Moon Music.

Vocalist Josep Brunet explains the track:

“This is a song about what our Mediterranean Sea was and what is nowadays… I mean, during the past times it was a sea to share, to grow, of course, there was a lot of wars, but it was our true nation, of all of us, so in this song appears eight different languages of our big cultural area (Greek, Maltese, Spanish, Arabic, Catalan, Italian, French, and Hebrew), and we had our friends and fans of the band do the vocals on it.

The lyrics for it are from a poem by Catalan writer, Miquel Martí I Pol, translated into these eight languages. The melodic vocals done by Julia Colom too are really awesome; we had goosebumps on our skin when she was recording her vocal parts. Very epic, gothic and very deep.”

“Aamamata” follows their 2014 album “Compassion Forlorn”, 2009’s “Forthcoming Displeasures” and 2005 debut full length “Fragments, which have anchored HELEVORN’s place in the global doom scene.

The band adds:

“We think that fans will love the new album. We know that we are not discovering something new, we are creating 90’s goth-doom metal in present times. It should be received like a piece to reborn the scene and for the music to relate on the decadence of humankind through the drama of the refugees that are dying and trying to escape from the hell that the Western countries have put them in.”

With more and more fans craving the somber tones and dreary vocals, HELEVORN has brought their dramatic intensity to many European festivals including Dutch Doom Days, Gothoom Open Air, Wave Gotik Treffen, and Madrid is the Dark Fest. They are also bringing their gloom to Canadian cities this coming May for their first cross country tour with Solitude Productions label mates Mexico’s Majestic Downfall (dates listed below).

Il video di “City of Emeralds”, dall’album omonimo.

Riccardo Tonoli presenta il videoclip di “City of Emeralds”, brano che dà il titolo al suo primo lavoro solista.

Il nuovo videoclip, diretto da Michele Sirigu (G Studio Entertainment), vede Riccardo e la sua chitarra al centro dei luoghi del Lago di Garda, tra montagne, boschi e gallerie.

Un video suggestivo in cui spiccano le capacità chitarristiche di Tonoli, già conosciute per il lavoro con la band Tragodia nella quale milita dal 2007 con quattro album all’attivo tra cui il recente “Before The Fall” (Revalve Records).

La chitarra è dunque la vera protagonista capace sia di agguantare con forza i propri spazi che di lasciare momenti di respiro.

Il titolo del brano fa riferimento alla Città di Smeraldo del Mago di Oz, uno dei racconti che hanno ispirato il chitarrista nella scrittura delle musiche; infatti gran parte del disco rimanda al mondo delle fiabe, in cui fantasia e sentimento possono viaggiare separandosi da tutto quello che è il mondo reale, dando vita ad avventure e situazioni completamente nuove.

Così,esattamente come nel viaggio fantastico di Dorothy, ‘City of emeralds’ fa si che tramite la musica si possa raggiungere qualsiasi destinazione andando oltre i limiti, riuscendo a vivere l’immaginario e rendendo reale l’impossibile.

L’album, prodotto da Daniele Mandelli (Forgotten Tomb, Dark Horizon, Tragodia, ecc.), verrà pubblicato il prossimo 7 Febbraio attraverso Heavy Loads/Freemood, etichette del gruppo Tanzan Music.

Biografia
Le straordinarie doti chitarristiche di Riccardo Tonoli sono state una colonna portante del progressivo, potente e ‘thrashy’ sound della band Tragodia sin dal 2007. Assimilando da adolescente le tecniche classiche apprese dall’ascolto di leggende come Yngwie Malmsteen e John Petrucci, e fondendole al proprio stile, sempre melodico e meravigliosamente irrequieto, Riccardo ha scolpito la sua nicchia e ha creato un approccio immediatamente riconoscibile tra i chitarristi moderni.
Riccardo è attivo dal 1998, suonando in varie band come Bladhe, D-Vines, Hand of Glory, e ha collaborato con gruppi molto apprezzati come To Cast a Shadow (Norvegia), Gravøl (Norvegia), Take me Out (Italia) e Dark Horizon (Italia).
Attualmente è il chitarrista principale dei Tragodia, posizione che ricopre dal 2007,contribuendo in maniera consistente all’attività della band sia come interprete che come autore versatile e prolifico.
Dopo aver completato il songwriting per il suo primo lavoro da solista nel 2014, Riccardo è entrato in studio per registrare il suo primo full lenght album strumentale ‘City Of Emeralds’, prodotto a fianco del noto sound engineer Daniele Mandelli (Forgotten Tomb,Dark Horizon, Tragodia, tra gli altri) presso gli Elfo Studio (Piacenza, IT) e Tanzan Music studio (Lodi, IT).
